In order not to interrupt your business, LitExtension will keep your old store active normally during and after the migration until you want to deactivate the site. Therefore, when you are busy migrating and setting up your new store, your old store still receives new orders, customers, add new products and new changes.
Then, these questions may come to your mind after finishing the set-up, “Now, how can I move all the newly incurring entities to my new store and bulk update migrated data?”, “Do I need to transfer everything all over again?”, or ” Do I have to manually add new and correct them?”
Other migration service providers may advise you to re-migrate your store as the last resort. However, this option will cost extra money and take more time. In addition, you may probably lose every customization you’ve been adding to your new site.
But now, LitExtension can proudly tell you that: “No, you don’t need re-migration”. We can help you bulk update your data and import new entities automatically and simultaneously with our new service, SMART UPDATE.
What Does Smart Update Do?
With Smart Update service, our tool will compare data fields in both your source store and target store to explore the differences after the migration. If there are any differences or changes, it will immediately perform the update in your new store. At the same time, our tool will also check whether you have any new data in your old store and then migrate only those to your new one.
There are 5 default product fields that could be updated with Smart Update:
- Quantity and stock
- Price
- Categories
- Product name
- SEO URL
If you need to update other fields in products or even customers and orders (order status for example), please let us know so that we could customize and get them updated for you.
How Much Does Smart Update Cost?
Smart Update is totally free for unlimited times within 3 months after the first full migration (in case the total additional entities are less than 10% the number of entities in the initial source store).
If your recent data is more than 10% of the total entities you have purchased initially or run after 3 months since the first full migration completed: The cost will be calculated depending on the number of arising entities you want to import.
How Can You Use LitExtension Smart Update?
Smart Update will only be performed after you’ve finished a full migration with LitExtension. Then, go back to your “My Migrations” page, you will see a purple button named Smart Update, click on it and you’re on the way.

After that, our tool will return you a report showing how many new-added data you have recently in your Source Store since the full migration as well as how many entities we need to scan to update.
Here is an example of Smart Update data migration. There are 594 entities in total that the tool imported for you on the last full migration and need to be scanned for changes.
